Definition and concepts

Unpaid family workers are those who work in a family business who do not receive a formal wage or salary but benefit from the profits of that business. This does not include unpaid family carers – they are not included in the employment statistics at all.

Due to disaggregation not available at the local level, this data represents the North West of England as opposed to Liverpool.

This indicator is being used as an approximation of the UN SDG Indicator. Where possible, we will work to identify or develop UK data to meet the global indicator specification. This indicator has been identified in collaboration with topic experts.
