Definition and concepts

Data are based on the National Curriculum for England. Children in key stage 1 are between the ages of 5 and 7. This covers years 1 and 2 in primary school. Children in key stage 2 and between the ages of 7 and 11. This covers years 3 to 6 in primary school.
